Once you’ve completed your flight it’s every man for himself.

Security is to protect the airline’s property, not you or your property.

I’ve flown with a checked firearm twice. First time they just sent it out on the regular baggage carousel. Second time I had to get it from a security office and show id. I’m not a big rules guy but in this case the second way seemed better.

Once you realize that security isn’t there to keep you safe it makes sense.

TSA is for security of the planes and airports. If you’ve cleared all baggage through the flight then it’s a “safe” bag. After that they don’t care if you need to dispute a lost bag with the airline

I remember pre 9/11 it was the opposite. They used to check your tag before you could leave with a bag

50% chance of getting someone’s dirty laundry. 99% of getting clothes that don’t fit you.

I love how they herd us like cattle into a bunch of security lines that are a terrorist’s wetdream.Â

At La Guardia I’ve had security check my bag versus my ID.

My ride was parked outside and I took less then 20 steps from the baggage claim to the car. In the car I was thinking how insanely easy it is to steal bags if anyone wanted to

There haven’t a been a lot of terrorist plots to take out baggage claim areas, but I’d imagine that as soon as there are, security will sky rocket.

Security is there to regulate who/what can get onto the airplanes. It’s not there to stop personal theft.

When you enter security is to protect “their” property.
At the baggage carousel it is your property, which they care less than zero about.
