I wasn’t able to get my name 2 years ago. Not even with dots or initials. Turns out my dad took it when I was born, then forgot to mention it for 18 years
My therapist said this very thing to me. Ugh

I have my name as my Gmail address. Apparently having an unusual name helps.
The trick is to add your birth year or maybe area code, put various punctuation between the names, or swap the order with last name then first name, or some combo.
My name is so common I couldn’t get my name even as a yahoo or AOL address in back in 2000. Lol

To really age myself I still use my @msn email which is just by first and last name. No periods. No numbers.
I somehow got my name, then realized I misspelt my own last name, then a few years later changed my name and the new one was already taken for Gmail

I got first initial, last name, @gmail.com and although i’ve never gotten a comment about it i do get a shit ton of email for random people with similar names
I registered my name as a domain back when it was still possible and I jumped on it when Gmail came out.

Yeah, I got in during the invite era when they were giving users five invites each to share. Got my first and last name, then used my invites to grab the same for my wife. We got our domains in like 98 too. When my kids came along in 03-04 I did my best for them right away and just parked on the domains and gmail addresses until they needed them. One got first/last, the other got firstmiddlelast. Early bird and all that. There are much more famous people with my name who probably hate me.
I was an early adopted of Gmail and got first initial last name  My brother has the same first initial as me and was unhappy that I got it first. He has since started going by his middle name so he got that one.

My email, which is yahoo lot gmail, is firstinitiallastnameRN and a year. Not the year I was licensed, which would’ve been significant and meaningful. Nope. I chose the year I opened the email. Didn’t make people question my CV at all, I’m sure.

I got my name, but I had an early Gmail account from the first couple of weeks of invitations from a tech insider.
You don’t need to be there on day one of your name is unique enough.
