Why the fuck do people even care what language people speak? I’m eastern european, if I hear someone speaking in another language I’m happy because someone from that country found their way here, its nice.

One time while waiting in line at a gas station someone made a “young people always on their damn phones, can’t you just call the person?” Type comment to me. I informed him I could call my roommate but it doesn’t do much good considering he’s deaf.

My brother in law is Puerto Rican but looks very Caucasian. He and my sister were eating lunch and two women were saying something insulting about them in Spanish and were very surprised when he spoke fluent Spanish back to them. Never underestimate the power of bilingual people 😂.
