That’s why I say to my dog to stay and he will wait as long as fridge is not being open
Depends on the dog I’d say. Some lazier dogs don’t care much, but almost every form of shepherd MUST know where everyone is at all times or they feel uncomfortable.

Dogs are the most precious, they stay and love you all of their life
It has taken 5 years, but Teddy now understands that when I get off the couch in the morning to go make breakfast that he should stay on the couch and that I will be right back.
This fits my 8 month corgi, she must watch me pee. But my 3 year old corgi decides I can fend for myself while she lays on the couch, what if a bear attacks me?
I could say the same about my almost two year old son. “Be right back” just doesn’t register. It’s more of an invitation at this point. It’s probably one of the cutest thing he does.
Meanwhile my cat’s sitting here looking at me like “Do you really need to get up while I’m on your lap? Fine if you die before you return I’ll feast on your eyeballs before I starve”

if she’s on the couch and i get up, she goes and sits in front of the tv stand (that’s where her box of treats are lol).
We have a 4yo dalmatian who acts like our shadow. When my girlfriend and I sit on opposite sides of the room he goes and sits right in de middle between us. It’s hilarious.
