I initially read that as three stages of cancer

This meeting could have been an email 😔

Truth I have about 2 hours a day where I can actually get work done

That second stage lasts about half a week.

I hate it so much. Imagine talking about the same shit with simple solutions with people who love implementing expensive and complicated solutions that don’t work every day

Meetings are just payed breaks

I thought this said “cancer development” and was hella confused with that first one 💀

But don’t worry, if you work hard you’ll get a promotion and then you’ll be able to decide which meetings you need to be part of.

I don’t think stage 2 is real.

Maybe between the first meeting invite that makes you feel important and partway through that first meeting when you realize that this could be an email and half the people in the meeting don’t know what they’re doing.

Why do actual work when you can have a meeting to discuss what job you could do?

4. I can’t wait until I’m so important that I don’t have to do anything but show up to a meeting and contribute nothing of value but get paid $$$

I’m at the stage of my career that meetings can take place in other cities.

So I’m expected to drive somewhere, spend a night or 2, and sit in unproductive meetings that easily could have been an e-mail.

I think most people don’t want to be in meetings regardless of the stage of career development they’re in

If you’re in that second stage enjoy it, it’s shorter than you think.

Stage 4, secure in your job and important enough that management leaves you alone and out of almost all meetings.

They talk while I keep the place running.

Let’s make this real quick the boss says everytime, 30 minutes later I don’t even know what we are talking about as it’s now gibberish.

Literally I just want money

You guys didn’t start at step 3?

yeah i haven’t even reached the stage of wanting to be in meetings. sucks to be that guy

This

What hiding in the broom closet taught me about B2B sales

Really it’s:

1) I’m excited to get out of school and join a team/group that actually knows what they’re doing and wants to work smart

2) There’s no perfect system, and it’s rare to find a job where it actually feels like it makes sense

3) Wash rinse and repeat until you find the job you like, become homeless, or die

Stage 2 is very short

4. This could’ve been an email.

I have only ever been in the 3rd stage and am always surprised when I remember there’s people that feel otherwise.

I remember my friend being like “don’t you hate when you find out about a meeting you should been invited to??” I was dumbfounded. I’ve literally never been happy about getting a meeting invite or unhappy about not having to go to one.
