There were so many bad predictions here leading up to the election
Nah. Trump is already screwing up. These nominees aren’t even qualified for the jobs they’re nominated to run. The Republicans complain about DEI, yet they support straight-up cronyism. They’ll be a blue wave in two years when voters hopefully come to their senses.
That really depends on how Trump’s tariffs and deportations affect people financially.
This is sad but true. Only one swing state senator is up for reelection in 2026 and it’s the Democrat from Georgia. Everyone else is either in a diehard blue state or diehard red state. Is there anything that can be done at this point?Â
The media has sucked up to Trump because they have no backbone to report the truth
In two years, most people will be sick of the orange idiot……. again. Assuming he’s still there and it isn’t Shady JD. But it won’t matter because the 2026 elections will be hacked just like this last one was.
Kamala had to run a perfect campaign. People won’t shut up about her one answer, when asked what she would do differently than Biden, and she said “Nothing I can think of.” Granted, it’s not the best answer. But the fact that people see one reply to a question, and say “Nope, she’s not qualified” while Trump obviously bullshits every single answer he gives and gets a pass. Abortion after birth, migrants eating dogs and cats. There was no reporter that replied back immediately to ever say, “Mr Trump, you know that is false.”
It’s infuriating. I really want to believe that MSNBC is leaning left, but it is showing more and more that all these cable companies just want to tease their base just enough to keep them hooked, while supporting the felon behind the scenes because of tax cuts, or whatever. Anti Trump news coverage is just as profitable as pro Trump coverage. Rage bait
I’m not saying you’re wrong, all I’m thinking is that if Trump does what he wants, there’s a chance it will devastate this country. If he deports illegal immigrants, if he comes after birthright citizenship, if he comes for gay marriage, if Americans die, if inflation goes through the roof, then I don’t see a red wave happening just like it didn’t happen in 2018 or 2022.

It’s a uniparty system. Democrats are just pro gay Republicans. We live in a despotic, imperialistic hellscape ran by corporate interests and its never gonna get better. We are just gonna continue to be brainwashed that rampant consumerism will make our anxiety over this countrys terrible behavior better- as we regularly produce trash piles the size of citys until ecological disaster takes us.
It will be a red wave because, in case anyone forgot, these are mask-off, explicit, full-frontal fascists who already told us they will not willingly leave power and will use every tool at their disposal, legal or not, to retain it.
You can vote your way into fascism, but you can only shoot your way out.
We need a new wave of liberal influencers and podcasters, supported by Democrats, to counter any attempt Trump makes to muffle liberal MSM. The American spirit rises up when suppressed. Strong-willed Republicans will not bow down to Trump.
There will be a blue wave in 2026.

It’s way too early to make this call. Things can change at any time. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if this massive upset of an election actually does neuter the Democratic Party for the next eight years.
Even many democrats acknowledge the mistakes the party made during this campaign and are feeling alienated by it.
The parties we grew up with no longer exist.
Just like 2016 he will ride the wave of Democrats succesful policy and after about 3 years people will start to see the adverse effects. Democrats can try to clean it up again, only with the administrative state and judiciary burned to the ground.
2026, Trump, why can’t we change that rule on a third term. 2028, Dem presidential candidate arrested.

Trump has already confirmed he plans to declare an emergency and use the power given to him by the International emergency economic powers act to implement tariffs without congressional approval. He already promised a 100% tariff on all foreign goods and materials.
Trump already proved in his 1st term that he will never back down on anything and admit it was a bad idea. His playbook is always “Double down and blame the democrats.”
We can’t count on congress either, because Trump had already shown that his endorsement (Or lack thereof) can destroy any Republicans political career.
This will cause an economic downturn, and everyone will suffer. Hopefully people won’t believe Trump’s rhetoric and will realize it’s his fault.
I’m not gonna hold my breath though.

I don’t think it’s so much legacy media we have to worry about, but alt media and disinformation on social media. I truly believe that explains 2016 and this year’s election.
Doubt it. Trump’s tariffs are going to increase prices and any cuts to SS/Medicare are going to get a lot of backlash. Musks’ and Vivek’s plans to gut the federal government are not going to go over well in reality. He’ll also be involved in a lot of drama, so I think dems will retake the house.Â

On January 20th they’re not just bringing the gallows for Mike Pence. They’re bringing it for our democracy. We should all panic and it’s horrifying, but it’s already over.

The media has two Trump modes: Literally clown, or literally Hitler. So, Clown Hitler.
There’s only a couple far right, small outlets like Newsmax and that other one that cover him not only favorably, but constantly. Even Fox tows is wishy washy with Orange man knowing their viewer base – they’re basically balancing themselves on the fenceline.

Midterms are. The MSM will continue to lose influence over voters as we become increasingly polarized into our own media spheres (and lists of dems don’t trust the traditional sources of media after a lot of capitulation to Trump during the election).
