Title: A Breathtaking View: Mount Rainier from the Pacific Crest Trail at the Base of Mt. Adams
Washington State, USA
As I hiked along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) at the base of Mt. Adams in Washington State, I was treated to a breathtaking view that left me awestruck. The majestic Mount Rainier, a towering giant in the Cascade Range, stood majestically in the distance, its snow-capped peak glistening in the sunlight. The sheer scale and beauty of this moment was a testament to the natural wonders that await hikers on the PCT.
The View
As I rounded a bend in the trail, the landscape unfolded before me like a canvas of natural beauty. The rugged terrain of Mt. Adams, with its glaciers and snowfields, stretched out to my left, while the vast expanse of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest lay to my right. And then, there it was – Mount Rainier, rising over 14,000 feet into the sky, its peak shrouded in a wispy veil of clouds.
The view was nothing short of stunning. The mountain’s symmetrical shape, with its glacier-carved valleys and ridges, seemed almost otherworldly. The sunlight danced across its surface, casting a warm glow over the entire scene. As I stood there, transfixed by the view, I felt a deep sense of connection to the natural world and the incredible landscapes that the PCT has to offer.
The Pacific Crest Trail
The Pacific Crest Trail, one of the most iconic long-distance hiking trails in the United States, stretches over 2,650 miles from the California-Mexico border to the Washington-Canada border. The trail passes through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country, including the Sierra Nevada, the Cascade Range, and the Columbia River Gorge.
The section of the PCT that I was hiking, near the base of Mt. Adams, is particularly scenic. The trail winds its way through dense forests, across meadows, and over mountain ridges, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including deer, bears, and eagles, as well as an abundance of wildflowers and other plant species.

Pacific Coast Trail trail?
It’s a very pretty shot. 😀
My wife and I flew into Seattlea few years ago to start our trip down the west coast for our honeymoon. We’re driving out of town talking, and she stops mid sentence… “Is that a fucking mountain?!?” She had never been that close to one.
Visiting the PNW is definitely on my bucket list!
Nice
The colors are gorgeous! Good job.
Beautiful shot! Love the foreground with all the trees! Just beautiful!!😻
So clear! Impressive majestic mtn.
Absolutely stunning view! The contrast of Mount Rainier against the vibrant autumn foliage is breathtaking.
I really really miss the PNW. Grew up and lived there for 40+ years, moved to Houston for my partner, what a shit hole. The entire state has almost zero geological features other than highways.
Stunning mountain at the back 🤩
beautyful!
But… why is the rock on the top left staring at my so angrily from behind the tree?
Those autumn colours are incredible

I’m a stoner chef.
