As a Canadian, I find this argument deeply offensive. I am also extremely unhappy with how Canada is being treated and portrayed in this situation.

Canada has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in every war since the early 1900s. Our soldiers rest in foreign lands alongside American troops, having made the same sacrifices for shared values and freedom. When 9/11 shook the world, we were there, unwavering in our support, united in the fight for freedom and security.

Now, instead of recognizing this long-standing alliance, unfair tariffs are being imposed—tariffs that will hurt not just Canadians, but Americans as well. These policies will drive up costs, damage businesses on both sides of the border, and harm the very people who have stood together through history. This is no way to treat an ally. If you want us to act poorly towards you, continue to treat us poorly.
