Having been through this (cancer) with a loved one myself, **I am so sorry for your loss**
Been there. You never forget them. You also never move on from it. You do, sadly, learn how to live without them. And every major milestone you experience you think how much they would love it. Be it your senior instrument recital, the birds winning a Super Bowl (or 2) or your kids being born.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I lost my Dad to Cancer nearly 30 years ago and it still sucks. Remember the good times, cherish photos, mementos, whatever. Light a candle, whatever works for you.
