We just got UNO No Mercy for Xmas and I was so excited they had colorblind symbols now since I struggle with the red/green in low light.
This is definitely mildly infuriating – it’s not enough to stop me from playing with that deck, but it is certainly enough to irk me every time I’d go to play. Also, any possible home remedy (like sharpies or nail polish to create more uniformity in the cards) is just too time consuming for me to ever want to solve the issue.
Why cards are see-through, it doenst even look good. They wouldnt have this problem if they simply keep the old design and just add the symbols

I’m color blind and have zero issues playing normal Uno. Are there severities of CB where such a product is actually needed? Honest question. And if so, is it large enough to justify the expense of making it in the first place?

True to the rules, wild card +4 can only be played if you can’t match a color. It’s not really a big deal knowing if someone has one or not. It just tells you that you can’t force a color draw on them. It also tells you that if you are the person next to them, you are going to be drawing 4 at some point, so you better drop those reverse cards every time you are playing after them.
I had a pack of “Donkey” cards when I was a kid (basically Go Fish). The Donkey card had a different colour back, defeating the entire point of the game.
How would this allow you to form a strategy? At best you’d know what others have but other than that, there’s no card choosing in the game so I don’t see the benefit.

Why doesn’t the wild card also have the symbols? Seems to be another oversight.

Never understood why people need/buy UNO cards… the game is literally a copy from a normal card game played with NORMAL cards. Eliminating the whole colour blind problem… because the cards are already symbols. So… just simply don’t buy UNO cards, problem solved.
You need to try “uno no mercy” I was playing that with my sister and brother in law on Christmas and holy shit was it way more fun! It’s brutal
