Is soo just realized the irony of this. If they really want social media that has free speech as per the first amendment – wouldn’t it have to be government run? The one thing they hate most (after immigrants)

There was a top post on reddit today where someone was complaining about how Bluesky was being seen as “left wing” when it should be seen as neutral.

It’s amazing how some people’s entire world view is so performative and narcissistic that it just comes down to proving to other people that they’re neutral.

Exactly. Back to when hate speech is unacceptable and everyone wants facts and truth in their conversations.

Also, Twitter is now run by literally one of Trump’s besties who is in now in charge of a fake government department. How anyone going to deny that Twitter is now nothing else than a MAGA mouthpiece? There is nothing left of the old Twitter. If you want to call Bluesky “liberal”, then fine. But Twitter is x10 more right than Bluesky is left.

Image the fury and anger coming from the right if Mark Cuban would have bought Twitter (and Cuban is nowhere near the bootlicker that Musk is).

I had a guy I know send me a link talking about all the shit getting reported on Bluesky. He got upset when I pointed out that it’s because its a platform open to the public, and that some people will use that opportunity to post heinous content, and all the reports mean such content was not tolerated. He did not like it when I said that it looked to be working as intended. Oh well.

Just an observation, coming from an European:

The entire political spectrum in the USofA has shifted to the right, both Democrats and Republicans.

This movement of Republicans against Trump had nothing to do with the orange grifter per se. What actually happened was that the populist/ fascist MAGA movement created a vacuum on the center, which the democrats filled, and moderate Republicans reluctantly cohabitated.

There was no actual liberal representation in the Democratic Party this election cycle, both parties were campaigning center / right. There was no loud voice objecting to the Genocide in Gaza, there was no loud voice presenting any actual liberal viewpoints.

This was conservatism vs paleoconservatism. All that the voters saw was Republican brand vs. Democrat store brand – at what appeared to be similar price points.

And when the knock-off is just as expensive as the brand, you know what consumers buy.
