Always shoot your shot big dawg, rejections hurt less each time, and when one does catch your vibe and reciprocate, it’ll boost your confidence thru the roof.
Also try to make healthy changes. Diet (like even just consuming less sugar and carbs) plus some exercise will go a long way to help your mental health just as much as your physical health. Start lifting some weights, just commit to one month to start. You will see big changes (if you don’t half ass that one month) and that will become cyclical and make you want to work out even more. Then a year goes by and you’re a new man with a wife and a kid on the way.
Just take it one day at a time. You got this

You’re putting too much significance on any one encounter. Start casually complimenting cool people (*especially* if it’s gender you’re not into but you think the person is cool anyway) and then just continuing on with your day. People usually don’t mind compliments if it’s clear you’re not trying to lead into anything and you’re not interrupting them. This helps you get used to just saying hi and being nice to people, and helps fight against your own self defeating brain too.
Also, if you only ever approach, say, girls you’re romantically interested in, then every single time will be an earth shattering nervous wreck because every single time has *stakes*. It’d be like if the only time you ever spoke to anyone was for job interviews, then speaking would always be hard because you never practice or chill. You need to get used to being cool to people when there aren’t any stakes, then you can handle it better when there are.

My brain used to tell me the same things.
*Used to*…
One day, I said “fuck you brain, I’m trying anyway”. Now, I’m married and my wife is keeping me awake as she snores directly into my left ear.
You, too, can have a life partner keeping you awake at night. You just gotta tell your brain it can fuck off when it says shit like what’s in the image. One day, it’ll get the message.

This is a correct thing to do, though. Don’t approach random girls, you just behave like a horny animal.
