There is art and there is money laundering
I feel that modern art requires many things for the viewer to understand what the artist was originally trying to express. Whilst old art like the Renaissance was more of capturing the physical things we see.
I could even say that memes are modern art cause there is intent of expression, and I can understand the frustration with modern art being boring.
Thereโs still a lot of people making impressive artwork
Thereโs probably been coping unskilled artists in all time periods

i mean i honestly agree (i mean there are modern artists that i think make good art but nothing that would get in a museum ๐ ) like all the stuff in museums is a blank canvas that’s named “deep thoughts” or some mind numbingly boring sh*t like that and the price will be $5,000,000,000,000 but i feel like that only with paintings like modern sculptures are pretty good in my opinion but modern paintings suck and their painters can suck a lemon
