It gets better, sometimes it’ll connect to your Outlook, and start making your emails go to hell because you have no space or storage for emails because, guess what,
Outlook and OneDrive use the same storage space.
Isn’t that hilarious?
Uninstall Program
Aaaaand this is why I got rid of it. It took about 5 hours to detach my PC from it entirely, but once I did, my startup time went from 3 minutes to 15 seconds!!!
Never, EVER get OneDrive.
I never set up onedrive, I assume my decision was good.
Its almost a virus. every time i create a new video editing folder for my gaming music videos it wants to add it to my cloud…

I completely disable one drive. I cannot stand it. Got my own backup on a Bootable thumb drive.
It’s simple to disable.
Go into one drive app settings and disable all the folders it’s syncing. There are two options to disable, one is for the folders to sync and other is for folders to appear on your device from one drive.
Or just unlink your account from One Drive, I don’t because I use it.
Even if you don’t do the things in the first paragraph, it will be fine if you do the next part only. That was a precaution.
Quit one drive from the tray in the start taskbar. Now go to either startup settings or startup section in task manager and disable One Drive from starting on boot. It’ll never come back unless you reinstall the OS. And even if it needs to be opened, it’ll not sync anything.
I’ve lost this battle more than once and I’ve found it easier just to switch to Linux

Onedrive is the first thing I disable on a fresh windows install.
It’s like OneDrive has a personal vendetta against my files. I just want to save stuff without the constant threat of it disappearing or doubling up in storage. Why can’t it just let me exist in peace?
I use onedrive daily. There are things that annoy me about it but never has it tried to back up a folder I specifically told it not to.
The gallery on my Samsung phone is synced with one drive, if i delete a photo on one drive to save space it deletes it on my phone too, to work around it i had to put the photos in a new album and not let it sync, way too much work for a simple task.
The only reason i use it is that it works fine and you can set it and forget about it, i personally need the photos i take to be synced and not the memes i download
google does the same
stop reminding me every FUCKING week to backup my photos, I already told you no, so leave me the fuck alone, I back them up myself elsewhere
I accidentally put my Desktop folder in my OneDrive. I had about 350 GB on there alone, I don’t know how. But now I don’t know how I get my Desktop out of my OneDrive

Just uninstall it? It’s one of the first things I always do when setting up a new Windows machine.

I legitimately had to clean wipe my computer because one of my blender projects got moved to the one drive somehow and it caused an unfathomable amount of problems
Why not just don’t put the file on OneDrive????

Every time I set up a PC the first thing I do once the desktop loads is search-> add or remove programs -> uninstall onedrive
Can’t you just uninstall it? First thing I do after every 10/11 install and never had problems like this.
i LOVE how it puts desktop shortcuts on my laptop for games that I have installed on my desktop. Super fucking useful. No notes.

Bruh OneDrive is one of the first things I disable when I get a new PC. Fuck that shit.

I deleted all my stuff from one drive and canceled my subscription.
I can however still access the app and all deleted data on my phone without issue.
Ive disabled this like 5 times already and still xD
Feels like it gets reanabled with every update. My drive is now 100% full with mostly garbage lol.
I uninstalled OneDrive and my gaming laptop doubled or tripled in speed/fps. Might as well consider it malware at this point.
