I love the part where they praised “martyred” terrorists. May the people of Gaza come to see their true enemy is the men they cheer.
Sadly not much to celebrate about here. This is just phase one – phase two is way more likely to fail.
And it looks like Hamas is already pushing for last minute changes.
As long as the jihadists stay in power I don’t see how peace can ever happen. They are already celebrating Oct 7 and declaring victory over Israel.
Peace cannot happen until Hamas is removed from power. Palestinians need to remove them if they want any true peace. Terrorist organizations do not make good governments

It took so much longer and cost so many more lives than it ever should’ve.

Permanent ceasefire first involves the Palestinians dethroning Hamas from power.
You got into a war by a terrorist group composed of religious zealots against a country that is also led by a bunch of religious zealots.
Get the religious zealots out of power and maybe, just maybe saner heads will prevail.
Cheering the sea fire is a great start. Now, if we can only get both sides to cheer the possibility of peace and coexistence next.

They had a bigger celebration on October 7th.
My slightly-optimistic take is maybe this will help cut down on the rampant antisemitism we’re seeing online. Because some people can’t seem to understand that it’s one thing to dislike the Israeli governments policies and quite another to scream about committing genocide on the Jews because someone on TikTok told them to.
The actual ceasefire, well, we’ll see how that goes. I would hope that it leads to a better outcome and we can at least see the hostages freed while aid delivery can ramp up for the *actual Palestinians* and not just Hamas. With Hezbollah weakened and Iran in a weaker position, it *could* see Hamas as a power structure being weakened more or *maybe* removed all together.
But, regardless, less constant “kill-all-Jews” Reddit hive mind would be nice to see.

But what to celebrate? 80% of the homes in Gaza are destroyed, many thousands are dead, there is not the slightest perspective on long term improvements.
My optimistic take is that Israel’s reputation will never recover from this.

I think they already got bombed again since the cease fire is not yet in effect. Sad.
I give it a week before either side breaks the ceasefire and Israel resumes carpet bombing Gaza.
I low key hate this subreddit. People really have zero clue what makes people support terrorism even when they defend genocide with the exact same logic. THINK FOR A SECOND. You support killing and war because Hamas attacked Israel, so why do you think Palestinians support Hamas after…years of military incursions and occupation. Its not that fucking hard.
