Political cartoon from 1889. This time period is known as “The Gilded Age.” Political corruption was widespread and private interest controlled a massive amount of wealth and power.
The Gilded Age was brought to an end after massive social upheaval called for reform. The monopolies were busted and democracy was revitalized, ushering in The Progressive Era.

It’s still the same btw, but now they also brainwash people to believe that that’s the norm.
In my utopia politicians would come home late at night extremely tired after losing their mind over how to comply with people’s demands. Today it’s normalized that politicians only race each other to gain power and do the bare minimum to keep it, it’s supposed to be that they do everything they can to make our lives better and if we still feel like it’s not enough they get their asses kicked out in the next elections. They evolved democracy into tribalism where people support “our guy” because “their guy” will “lead the country to ruin” all while the country together with the planet is being led to ruin anyway. People are no longer interested in political activism, they don’t even think about the policies of their candidate, they just vote for whoever seems the strongest like a fucking caveman.

I was taught this information in Junior High School and then I was given an even deeper knowledge base in Senior High School. That was back in the day of quality education for high school students. (I’m 70 years old next month.)
I have an understanding that high school education has been significantly dumbed down over the years. This is the very definition of the maxim for those who don’t know or pay attention to history lessons are doomed to repeat extremely bad decisions all over again.

The person luigi shot is the guy in second row as long as the top row guy’s profit doesn’t get affected he won’t care and will just find another guy. He will do some lobbying with govt. Policy makers and dissuade people from affecting his profit.

There’s a theory that the more you listen government oversight in the economy then the more likely it is for large monopolies and cartels to form.
Rather than the libertarian ideal of honest and open competition bringing down prices and correcting the market, instead when a company reaches a sort of critical mass they are able to another competition, fix prices, carve out territory and organize anti-competition agreements with their natural competitors.
The Gilded age is a great example for this, also look at the Columbian cocaine industry for a truly unregulated market.

But donโt think like that, otherwise youโre a nutcase and a large part of the citizens will no longer take you seriously and you will be censored.
