When are people going to realize that he is definitely self-aware and this is part of his manipulation of the masses? Admitting that he’s a fascist would be counterproductive to his goals. This reminds me of when he bought twitter and everyone on reddit thought he was an idiot because they saw it as a business move and somehow didn’t see that it was never about investing in the company, it was always about having control over the media and he used that control to help out Trump quite effectively. I hate Musk as much as the next guy, but people on reddit really need to stop underestimating how Machiavellian his tactics are.

I prescribe the the philosophy that the most appropriate person for a high position will never be the person who volunteers for it, but instead the person who will have to be forced to accept it; since that person will both know how much effort will need to go into doing the job the right way, and will immediately surrender that power the moment the job is done because they’re tired of dealing with the shit that comes with it. The person who volunteers for it will usually lack the full scope of the task and lay blame to everyone else for every obstacle that comes along, never taking personal responsibility for failures.
As for Elon, he ran chasing after the guy who wanted power with sackfulls of cash to support him. His actions speak louder than his words.
