It’s going to be funny when they leave Ramstein and realize how utterly fucked their supply chain is without it.
If this happens, I can’t understand the logic behind it (beyond the intrinsic idiocy of the U.S. administration): if it’s a ‘hostile’ act towards Europe, how are they going to efficiently manage the supply to Hungary? It’s a landlocked country. If it’s not a hostile act, why bother with it and lose all the magnificent existing infrastructure? Not to mention all the relocating costs.
It seems like another stupid idea they’ve pulled out of thin air to irritate (former) allies, but if someone has an explanation…

Sounds like one of the usual, very well thought out plans of the knowledgeable genius Trump.
From a German perspective: If the USA isn’t a reliable partner anymore and might even fall in our back or openly start a war against Europe to annex countries, I think it’s better if the US-troops will leave our country sooner than later. It’s very sad after so many decades of alliance and friendship, but the majority of the voters in the USA decided that this has ended.

Nothing to do with there being a Hungarian election in a years time and Orban will need the possibility of an evac if things don’t go his way and he fails to step down.

Why I am not surprised?
The orange man wants to push (extremely) rightwing governments upon Europe.
Remember orban is up for election soon. orban could claim this as a victory and they (the orange man and orban) will hope this contributes towards reelection. In addition, expect massive amounts of misinformation campaigns from the east and the orange man gov, Hungary.
Similar efforts will be put forward to other right wing parties in Europe (remember the support for Afd in Germany by the swasticar owner), as they are first and foremost (i) anti European Union (beneficial for other nations / the orange man under the divide and conquer/dominate principles) and (ii) pro putler and his cronies.
Don’t let this orange man fool you, Hungary. Vote your own mad man out of office!

As an American I’ve heard several veterans say moving troops from German to Poland would make sense between what they spend on defense and the Suwalki Gap being the biggest geographical weakness of NATO. Not to mention everything we send (or did send) to Ukraine went through Poland. But moving troops to Hungary is just rewarding a strong man he likes

Hungary is the only European country that did not leave a supportive online message for Ukraine in an article I read after Trump and Vance launched at Zelensky in the Oval Office meeting last Friday. I wonder? Is Hungary in on it too? Tis a great question to ask indeed.
Sure great strategic planning to abandon the largest airbase (Ramstein) and the most modern military hospital (Landstuhl) outside the US. Also the largest NATO training area (Grafenwöhr), europes most capable harbor for vehicle transport (Bremerhaven), europes larges train-infrastructure, huge industrial- and repair capabilities, the NSA facilities like Camp Dagger with all their satellite-communication and surveillance capabilities arround the worlds busiest internet hub (DECIX) and military command infrastructure like CENTCOM and AFRICOM just to kiss Orbans ass.
A far easier way of transferring intelligence secrets and weapons to Russia I guess.
It will be funny if he plans to use Hungary as a springboard for invading into Western Ukraine.
