Bionicle had some insanely deep lore for a kids series.
God do I miss it and wish they would come back.
I got the Snow Bionicle in a gift exchange in elementary school. The outer box was just some boring food item which was disappointing but I opened the box and there it was!

Buying presents for my friend’s birthdays during those years was so easy.
First I got one from my mom. Then I got one from my dad. Then I found out you could combine three of them to make a huge one, so I used that as a reason to beg my dad for one more and actually got it. Best gift ever!

I was explaining to my 10 year old what bionicle was the other day and, man it made me a little sad he couldn’t experience it because he loves legos.
Come on, Lego, give us a giant Mata Nui Great Spirit Robot set! Those kids who loved Bionicle have disposable income now!
One day I hope to see the original story revived and given a proper television series. I’m not talking the reboot, I’m talking the original storyline, the mask of light movie, the Toa Inika, etc.

The best thing i ever got towards the end of the bionicle age was a massive plastic barrel filled with random parts that was sold at toys r’ us (also towards the end of that era). I enjoyed making my own monstrosities from the parts.
Unfortunately no pictures exist of them because this was before my parents let me have a phone.

8yr old me got a 1st edition booster pack of Pokemon cards that I proceeded to open every one and didn’t have the foresight to not open and sell for $50k today.
Mine was the first gen fire Toa… it hasn’t changed my life per se, it blessed me with the knowledge that my parents are great (and very well off considering where I come from this shit costed a fucking fortune)
My oldest kid still has a bunch of these.
I was a Hero Factory kid myself.
I had several of them and spent so much time playing with them. When we moved to Australia they lost the case that had my toys in, I still remember not being able to find it and feeling upset that someone else would be palying with them. Sad days arriving to a new place with no toys

I had the water bionicle (was it Gali?) and after that I also had that fire one that bionicles fought with (those that had evil rubbery masks in them) and you could transform them into balls.
Eat them to gain their powers!
