Them: so basically, you pay into it and when you get sick or have an accident, they pay for some of it.

Me: shouldn’t they pay for all of it?

Them: no, then they wouldn’t make money

Me: but couldn’t I just take the money I’m paying them and put it in a savings account for when that happens?

Them: no, it’s illegal to not have insurance

Me: well that’s just a scam!
