The soap on the bottom is less dense than the soap on the top and so wants to rise. As it rises through the denser new soap, it forms [Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayleigh%E2%80%93Taylor_instability).
This is the same principle behind mushroom clouds created by large explosions, only smaller and less energetic.

You can also recreate this look by shooting a load into your soap dispenser and then quickly refilling it with soap to retain the shape.

How does this happen? I know mushrooms will grow just about anywhere but is the mushroom shape something that just appears for some reason or was this a glitch in the matrix? or maybe OP just created a new species of mushroom?
