ESPN definitely muted the crowd when it was time for the anthem.

I thought it was unusually quiet watching on Sportsnet. Was there boos, they must have muted it.
Just objectively speaking, who could possibly be upset about that considering what the US president has been saying about Canada recently?
i remember at one point ……during the american athem…audio glitch,no mic…so the canadians helped sing the american athem…….that was a long time ago

As an American, I’m OK with that. Freedom of speech is an important part of our society, even speech that may be controversial. It’s a two way street. We shouldn’t treat our closest allies (and neighbors) like crap.

I would not blame Canadians for this nor would I take it personally. The boos are deserved and aimed at the current US administration and the 30% minority of US voters who installed it.
