Is this even the case? I have never heard of it outside of these memes saying people are switching to it

It’s almost like China is paying/blackmailing someone to banned TikTok and moves to a literal Chinese propaganda app
It’s almost like they are banning the wrong app for the reasons they claim.
If they said its to combat the brain rot of social media then fair enough, twitter would also be nice.
At this point reddit is advertising Re dnote
They just want the spying to stay in house but it failed. Google and facebook have to start all over lobbying the government.
Why do people love their chinese shorts app when there’s like 20 domestically made apps that while I don’t necessarily think are a good thing are at least based in the US and not potentially giving your data to a foreign government for free.
Can we just bring back Vine?
If tiktok were being banned to get rid of Chinese influence, other apps would have been on the chopping block first. Tiktok is being banned because it poses a threat to the US socal media monopoly they use to spy on people.
The ban isn’t to stop spying from China, it’s to increase spying from the US.
The opportunity to cut down on doom scrolling was right there, but instead we need to uhm… use another garbage app to stick it to the government… or something?
Jokes on you, wouldn’t touch either app even if they paid me to.
