It’s uncanny how someone can send another person under a sociatal norm, to fight in a life-or-death scenario, with no stakes whatsoever. They drink columbian coffee in a nice maplewood desk, preferably under and AC, with a cushy chair and nice leathery militiary boots.
The things that kick in are morality, justice, righteousness, and of course, patriotism – for someone that’d rather befriend the person he’s fighting, as opposed to living in a grimy trench for months at end till they’re reduced to a mere body bag.
