I feel like an idiot, as it never even occurred to me that squirrels would be pregnant. Come to think of it I haven’t seen too many pregnant animals of other species as well.

This is less a squirrel and more a perfectly round loaf with a tail. 10/10 would protect at all costs.
I don’t know what I expected either, but this little round queen is everything I needed to see today.
I once saw a pregnant raccoon, and I had the same reaction, just pure awe. Nature is amazing and slightly hilarious.
