An absolute gem of a film – greatly overshadowed by Trainspotting, directed by the same Danny Boyle, it deserves attention. Three utterly horrendous young professionals sharing a flat – I knew folk like this back then – showing their true selves when Hugo comes to stay and leaves in ~~peace~~ pieces, with only a bag containing an enormous sum of cash to show his prescence.

Quite a few plot holes, but incredible performaces from Ken Stott, Ewan McGregor, Chris Ecclestone, Kerry Fox. Set in Edinburgh, where I live, which always helps.

Just thinking of Shallow Grave makes me wince from the scene where the guy gets hit in the shin. Excellent film 🎥

This is really good! Funny, quirky. A must watch

“When you wake up in the morning, how do you decide what shade of black to wear?”

Great movie, can’t believe I completely missed it for like 20 years

I want to like this film, but it just makes no fucking sense. Why not just keep the money and report the death to the police? They make everything so ridiculously complicated for no reason.

Oh look, it’s the better version of A Simple Plan
