If you can avoid sentencing because you are president then we don’t have equality under the law like the constitution says.
If we are just ignoring the constitution then are they really president?

For world control and domination, Putin is the winner, he certainly beat us. Now as we watch tRUmp fill his cabinet positions with essentially folks beholden to Eastern European an Asian philosophies, that oddly enough, align to what Putin wants, we will eventually see them align with us and against Ukraine, another countries and of course, NATO. So yes over 70 million people decided that the best course of action was to join with a country we’d rattled swords with since the end of World War II.
Seriously – all this “the Dems don’t know how to message” whining pales in comparison to the FACT that

Im in the process of a background check for a job that does Contract work for a Government agency, it’s an expectation that I don’t have a felony, misdemeanor or any court cases in my record for the last 7 years. This is for an Info Tech role, why is the President whom has security clearances not held to the same standard?
If you’re on trial for a felony and at least 35, declare your candidacy for president. Apparently, it’ll delay your sentencing through the election. If you’ve got $5k to spare then hire your spouse or someone close to create a campaign website so you can file the financial forms to say you’re running. Although I do have the sneaking suspicion it won’t work for the average person and definitely won’t work for anyone darker than your basic apartment wall

Resigning from Congress and not getting charged with a contact sex crime with a minor in Florida–where the age of consent is 18–does not mean his pick for attorney general should be off the hook.

If you or I was a delivery driver and got a DUI off the clock, resigning from the job would not make the charges go away. But, for some felons living in Florida, they do. Fuck Florida Fascism.

If it isn’t made law of the land that convicted felons cannot run for and be president if/when(?) a Democrat becomes president and control Congress and Senate again then they are even more spineless than I thought.

Democrats have good policies, but weak politicians. Jon Stewart mentioned it earlier. The slightest bit of resistance, a parliamentary, a standard or historical precedent or moral principle and they crumble. Republicans and democrats are playing different games.
Given the unprecedented election interference, the govt should refuse to cede power to the blatantly criminal Trump administration.

Macy’s fired me for a possession charge from ten years ago after I worked for them for two weeks. I’m in a legal state. Fun fact, I got that possession charge while asleep. Not relevant, but infuriating. While I do think, depending on the crime and what not, felons should have access to jobs, idk if president should be one. Kinda unreal to think about. So I guess people with felony convictions don’t deserve a second chance in life. That’s a very sad belief everyone deserves at least a second chance in life.
Good news! Now we know it’s all a scam. Our expectations for greatness were way off.
Here’s a hard-to-swallow pill: If convicting a politician prevented them from running for office, the number of bullshit cases brought before corrupt judges would skyrocket. If you think you have a great idea for fixing some flaw in the system, ask yourself whether you’d be okay with the other side wielding it against you. Because that’s what would happen.
It’s left up to the voters because, unlike a bullshit court case, where you only need to corrupt a handful of people to get rid of political opponents, corrupting half the nation is not possible. Or so it was thought.
You know. It’s not so much that running as a convicted felon is a problem.
In fact, a convicted felon should absolutely be able to run for and win the presidency because it protects against a rogue US government from using the justice department and judiciary to go after political rivals.
The problem is, **the people** are supposed to be able to tell the difference. It all comes back to an uninformed, uninterested electorate that is ultimately our problem.
