bro, there’s literally 400k postal carriers and they are working 12-15 hour days to get all the packages delivered.
The government provides SERVICES to people and those SERVICES require workers.
I like being able to mail something to anywhere in the country for the same price and not paying 2x the price for what UPS and FedEx provide.
I was going to make a comment about how this is a good thing because if there’s too much chaos due to axing a bunch of government jobs it will lead to riots and maybe overthrowing the government but then I realized that Trump can just lie about it and blame it on the democrats and that has seemed to work well for him so far so… Yeah.
Then blame the Dems on unemployment rates?
They hate the US government because it is a government of, by, and for the people. Weaken the US Gov and you weaken the American people and make them easier to exploit and control.

There are 3 million federal government employees. To get to 23.4 million you have to include all state and city government employees which includes all cops, firefighters, and teachers. Something tells me “Fire all cops and teachers” was not what people were voting for.

Old Gunther also doesn’t seem to understand the vast majority of those “government employees” aren’t federal employees, hell most of them aren’t even state employees (although there are a lot more state employees than federal), the bulk (about 15 million of that 23.4 million) are employees of towns, cities, counties, parishes, etc…aka local government. About half of the state and local employees are teachers and another sizable chunk are police officers.
It’s a little disconcerting how many people seem to think feds aren’t like, Americans, or people, or something. Like, we’re not your enemies- we work to make your lives better.
I had a work colleague push back on 508 compliance the other day because it was just an internal document, and I guess we don’t think feds with disabilities exist, or deserve to be able to use the content they need…?

We have a little over 3 million teachers. I would ask what the plan to educate our children is but I am pretty sure I already know what half baked plan he would have in mind for that…

I can’t wait until we see the second wave of morons losing everything because they invested their life savings into cryptocurrency. Oh wait. There is a bill right now that is trying to put our federal taxes into buying some to pay off national debt. Because there is a brilliant scheme that has no way of failing …
I really don’t know what the grand vision is from a prosperity angle. A lot of it is contradictory. A lot of it makes no sense at all. Like the U.S. government is the only place really hiring right now … so we’re going to do a mass cut of millions of employees?
My MAGA MIL keeps telling me then all that money goes back into our pockets. But how? So, we’re not paying into any government programs. What happens if you lose your job or have a health scare? Or you need to use any kind of public service? And then on top of that, workers who are already having trouble finding one will have to compete with an influx of government workers who don’t have jobs.
There are also 2.8MM in the military either on active duty, reserves or as civilian contractors.
The whole point of having a government is that we give up some personal freedoms and get certain services in exchange. Such as, welfare. And the mail.
All these MURICA FIRST! Idiots *want* a dictator to take away the good end of the deal, and I’ll never understand it. It’s not even “leopards eating my face” it’s more like “I want to cut my face off to force feed it to a herbivore while a leopard supervises”
