You’ve simply matured from civilian helicopter to military helicopter

I worked on a military base for a year and I still looked up every time I heard an Apache or an F-22.
Just find a neighborhood with cooler shit in the air.

I only look up when I hear fast movers screaming, or the distinctive sound of large displacement engines that indicate an old warbird. I will look when I hear the weird prop sound of a Chinook, since they are rare.

Depends. Where I lived medical and civilian helicopters were frequent. Next were Blackhawks and those were still fun because you could feel those. Rare occasion a Huey, a treat. And once in a great while something like a Chinook would go by. Whatever it was, the more it shook the house the more excited I got.
