All of these false assumptions about how awful marriage and children can be are so exhausting.

Yes, if you marry a spawn from hell or if you never actually parent your kids and just let them grow up absent of correction, discipline and love, then yeah they’ll be awful. But at this point you’re a terrible parent for neglecting your children.

Marriage and children are the greatest joys this life has to offer. But like all great things in life, require work, commitment and love. Put in the work and time, and you’ll be richly rewarded.

Imagine being afraid of the woman you said you want to spend the rest of your life with. These old people really dated for 3 weeks and said “yep let’s get hitched” without actually knowing the other person. I’ve been living with my girlfriend for 6 years and we are just now talking about getting married. There’s no rush. Get to know that person. Take as long as you need.

“Wife” doesn’t come under the subset of “man” which renders your point moot.
