polarized light can be used to make material stress and tension visible, you can see that effect on the headlights, the rainbow colors show stress areas from the injection molding process as the plastic cooled down, or somehow the paint job is messing with the polarization of the reflected light showing the distribution/orientaton of pigments in the paint
