Conservatives don’t want it because it helps others and “raises their taxes”.
There’s some things to agree on, but both sides have drastically different versions of universal healthcare they would support. Reddit leftists want us all to pay a % of our income to cover 100% of healthcare costs for everyone. A reasonable person thinks it should be an equalish payment into the system, with mostly just emergency services coverage, with small things being pay to use. You dont need your insulin or diabetes or blood pressure meds covered, they’re dirt cheap without insurance companies fucking everyone. You dont need your doctors visits covered, they should be in your cost of living budget. If you’re poor medi-cal and etc already help out there.

Far right are against it. I think 75% of Dem and Rep would like a sensible solution.
