Conservatives hate anything that makes people happy
They want a society of just Kings, lords and peasants with no education so they can’t rise up
Everybody should go watch the video of Mr. Rodgers going to congress and saving PBS

Sesame Street is about the joy and love of learning and community. It’s about the idea that days of your life can be sponsored by the letter E.

Isn’t providing educational content for low income inner city kids the clear definition of woke?
If I were to define “woke”, that’ll be it. Just like teaching history orteaching empathy.

Seems like a large swathe of the US population didnt understand how close the US was to a finding out phase in 1920s-1930s, especially rich motherfuckers who think everything since then was just some magical genie makin shit happen. They want to undo everything and take it back to the point where they might find out. Good luck.

Conservatives have been gunning for PBS for decades because it provides free, educational content. They bitch that it’s too left-leaning because it’s actually factual.

Can’t have those shows for the underprivileged youth if they want to bring back mass child labor à la Industrial Revolution style

Anything that benefits Black people they want to destroy it.
The ACA
Affirmative Action
Access to reproductive care for women
Even though those things benefit the poor whites at a magnitude higher than our people, they don’t care. As long as we don’t get anything they are happy in abject poverty and pain.
Little do they know, our people have been thriving and will continue to grow.
There have been four “Sesame Street” characters based on Donald Trump: two Muppet characters named Ronald Grump and Donald Grump, who belong to the Grouch family of Muppets; the human character Ronald Grump, played by actor Joe Pesci; and a dedicated Trump Muppet called Donald Trump Muppet, who had a more humanoid appearance than the two Grump characters of the Grouch family.

Woke at this point just means any and all social progress since oh 1950.
Republicans are just split on whether they want 1950 or 1850 to be the year they emulate in 20025+

Bro conservatives are beefing with Bluey for a throw away line in 1 episode were a kid says his “mums”. Like thats it and they are mad at it. Sesame street has been “woke” since its inception. Surprised it took them this long to be mad at it. Oh shit also they went after Mr Roger’s.

And the only reason the think it’s “woke” is because they never leave their homogeneous echo chamber of a small town to know there is a whole world outside of their particular mind virus.

Older white dude here. The thing I remember from Sesame Street when I was growing up in the 1970s is that I got to see black people, especially kids, living normal family/community lives on TV.
There was no crazy “JJ Walker DYN-O-MITE!!!” type hijinks, just cool kids buying things at the corner store and nice ladies talking to the kids perched out on the stoop playing marbles.
It was lovely.

Pretty much anything from the 90s would be considered “woke”by these idiots.
I had a co-worker go on a small rant about how he hopes the new superman isn’t “woke”. The irony in that.

Growing up, Sesame Street was what the hard right now calls “woke.” So was Mr. Rogers. So was Reading Rainbow. And so was just about any other children’s show, for that matter.
You know why? Because children’s shows tend to try to teach children to be good people. And being a good person is, to the far right, the epitome of being “woke.”
But if you’re on the other side from Fred Rogers… you’re the bad guy. No debate. You’re just the bad guy.

“Sesame Street” irritates conservatives because it’s set in a multiracial, multicultural and well-functioning urban neighborhood (not run by drug gangs, no “American carnage”) where kids hang out together without parents or other relatives ordering them to not have anything to do with kids who are [member of a particular race/ethnicity, creed, have LGBT parents, etc.].

[Sesame Street didn’t pull any punches](https://youtu.be/yQyTpPu0gvc?feature=shared)

Some of them probably see it as propaganda because [“Sesame Street” has parodied Donald Trump with the villainous character “Ronald Grump” since the 1980s](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/sesame-street-donald-grump/).
