Get home after a long day, eager to play some awesome game on my sweet rig, instead play the same old shit for an hour then watch some Sentai and drink beer before going to sleep.

Itโs messed up man, we get paid for our time at work but we spend so much more time and energy for it. We donโt get paid for all the maintenance required of ourselves. Itโs supposed to be priced in but it doesnโt feel like it. I make over 150k a year but I feel starved of time

Me: Man I can’t wait to have a proper gaming session when the weekend comes!
Me on the weekend:
I love having disposable income and being able to buy whatever I want now but at what price lol

This sums up my experience with disco elysium rather well
Yep. Working life is having all the money to buy games, yet almost no moments where you have both the time and energy to play them. I’m starting to understand why some people take vacation time to play a new release (though I wouldn’t do it at the actual release, too high a chance for bugs and technical issues).

The same thing with watching movies. Sometimes I fall asleep just from browsing what movie I want to watch.

that’s why I mostly play arena games instead of continuous open world anymore, several games and I’m satisfied
