Mr. Brooks is Robert Brooks, an inmate who was handcuffed while in custody and beaten to death
Updated 12/21 7:30 P.M- The Albany Times Union has identified the 14 individuals involved in the incident as Corrections Officers Anthony Farina, Matthew Galliher, Nicholas Anzalone, David Kingsley, Nicholas Kieffer, Robert Kessler, Michael Fisher, Christopher Walrath, Michael Along, Shea Schoff, David Walters, Nurse Kyle Dashnaw and Sergeants Michael Mashaw and Glenn Trombley.
This will NOT change under Trump. This is the guy who on Christmas of all days stated that his biggest desire in the whole wide world is to carry out the most death penalties of any USA President. This is also the guy who has said “I love waterboarding”. Spread violence, hate and a baying for blood mentality and then watch the world burn around you. Fuck these assholes!
Put ‘em all in genpop and see how long they last.

Beyond sad that this shit happens in the 21st century.
As a New Yorker – the other thing that infuriates me – is this poor guys family will sue and win (rightfully so) millions of dollars in a civil wrongful death suit. And they should 100% get that.
However……..the funding for that suit (and all others across the country) should not come from the taxpayers of the municipality, state, or federal government. Those losses should be incurred 100% by the pension funds of the respective unions, and those coffers should not be refilled by our tax dollars.
Maybe when their pensions start dissolving – they will stop murdering civilians.

Jails and prisons in US are cruel and weird, with facilities ran largely by psychopaths and those who watch the psychopaths. Many staff abuse inmates regardless of behavior, and the rest are silent rotten bad apples in a bunch.
This is utterly horrid. They broke his spine!
People then fake surprised when people start taking out out on police after nothing of substance changes. This is another branch of the line that gets to Luigi.

I’m sure that this isn’t the first time these officers have assaulted an inmate is this kind of fashion, the difference is that Mr Brooks died and they were unable to cover it up.

I’m from the area and a large number of families income are supported by the prisons and jails up here. You would absolutely not be surprised how many people first question is, “well what did he do?”
Also you would not be surprised how many get offended when you point out the moment they violated his rights and murdered him, they became criminals themselves.
Prison for all, preferably gen pop. See how tough they are then.

They will be investigated, indicted and sent to prison if found guilty. Correctional Officers have a duty to maintain the safety and security of the prisoners in their care. I know that this doesn’t happen in many cases, but that is their job. And they cannot legally harm the prisoners.
