In May, a firefighters’ pension fund in Hollywood, Florida, sued United HealthGroup, Thompson, Witty and Executive Chairman Stephen Hemsley. The suit accused the executives of selling a combined $120 million in company shares before a U.S. Department of Justice antitrust investigation was disclosed publicly.Â
The DOJ’s probe was related to UnitedHealth Group’s 2021 acquisition of Change Healthcare, which processes medical claims.Â
The lawsuit claimed Thompson knew about the investigation as early as October 2023 and sold shares worth $15.1 million on Feb. 16, less than two weeks before news of the probe went public, according to the complaint.

People have forgotten that the reason we have unions, elections, rallies, protests, etc., are because those in power REALLY didn’t like the alternative (dragging those pieces of shit out on their lawns and reminding them who is actually important to a functioning society… With a stern talking to, of course).
Politicians will never save you. No one is going to save you. Bullies will keep bullying until you stand up to them.
They will lie and tell you dumb shit like “without us, there would be no jobs!”. People have always had work since the beginning of time. We can’t afford anything as it is, what good is having a job anymore? The insurance?…
Plenty more people would be creating new jobs and Industries and businesses but the monopoly on essentially every market locks out anyone that isn’t already rich. So some people make it? Hell yeah they do. But the number is so Incredibly small, you might as well keep scratching lotto tickets for similar results and less effort.
Our successes as a country should not be “I hope I can get rich enough to ignore the plight of 80% of my country!”. The change should be “why TF is 10% of the country owners of everything, and the rest of us have little to nothing (comparatively for some, literally for most) even when we work all the fucking time for our entire lives?
