No Black Panther show or Tiana show 🤦🏾♂️ yea Disney just hates black people
It’s absolutely amazing to me that all it took for corporate america to completely reverse course on all these projects was Trump getting re-elected.
I mean, are we really surprised?
They’d rather focus on their Norwegian fantasy land in Frozen than give anything to the first Black princess.

We’d get Frozen 8 before we get anything Tiana related. I’m not surprised by this considering this is the same Disney that gave us our first Black princess yet made her an animal for 80% of the movie.
Court the audience you have, dumbasses. Conservatives will bitch about anything “woke”, but, if it’s successful, they’ll either shut up or claim it’s somehow a victory for conservatism (how they tried to claim *Barbie* was conservative is beyond me). So just create. Sane people will give you money if it’s good. But I guess Disney will do anything except pay writers.

These companies continue to show that they were just pandering with inclusion amd equality, so you’d still spend your hard earned money on their products. They never actually gave af and because of current American politics, they no longer have to pretend.

That’s my older kid’s comfort movie. At 21 it still brings them the same amount of joy as it did 15 years ago. Too bad the Patriarchal White Supremacy hates bringing joy to people.

Disney is abandoning streaming shows in general. However, they are going to make a short-form Tiana special instead. Moana 2 was originally going to be a streaming series as well. Since it it made $1 billion, one could see why they’d prefer to stick with movies if streaming shows aren’t generating the numbers they want.
Clearly this is about profit.

Yup and the minute a Democrat is elected into office again all of these scrapped projects will be back in running or slated for release.

They’re probably gonna take what they already made for the show and rework it into a movie just like they did for Moana 2. Especially since Moana 2 was a huge hit.
At the same time they announced their newest show is scrapping a transgender storyline in favor of a “openly christian” character.
They’re placating.
I know this is sad but may I suggest that we support Iyanu, the new cartoon network show about a young girl in Africa that has to use her powers to defeat the forces of evil, Just because something I can’t do doesn’t mean we can’t support something that is going to happen

The Princess and the Frog is a masterpiece. On one hand I’m glad they didn’t try to milk it more, on the other hand I would love seeing more of my favorite Disney storyline.
They also dropped a trans character from a show but brought in an “openly Christian” one. So, the house of the mouse is doing juuuuuust fine.
What’s wild is that the last couple of trips I’ve done to Disneyland, I have noticed that Tiana is by far the most popular princess walking around the park. She gets swamped with kids of all backgrounds wanting pictures with her, there were even little white and Latino boys wanting pictures with her.
70 years of incremental human rights advancement, 50 years since Barney Miller had an intellectual writer/cop (who was racially profiled by other cops), and “normal” gay characters who’s stories weren’t centered on being gay, (but included parental rights). Authentic representation for the 70s, looking pretty current in these Christofascist culture wars.
It took 6 weeks of an antiDEI agenda to drag it back 60 years.
The university i taught at had hundreds of inclusive missive statements but continues to employ the most racist, homophobic faculty and staff I’ve ever worked with, and I worked construction for 25 years.
So everyone who called all the DEI inclusion statements of companies and departments as phony-ass box-checking was absolutely right.
