I love the proudly stated “Rupert Grint from Harry Potter”

Now the FASCINATING connection is Daniel Radcliffe had that movie Swiss Army Man where he was pretty much himself, a Thunderpants, if you will.

This movie was fantastic. I first saw it at a karate sleep over night (early 2000s was a strange time)

I LOVE this movie. It’s genuinely great.

Worth noting that Rupert Grint doesn’t look like this in the movie at all. They basically slapped him as Ron Weasley on the cover to release this in the US after the success of Harry Potter. This movie may not have even got a DVD release here if it wasn’t for that.

One of my most cherished “let’s try this movie we’ve never heard of” Blockbuster rentals from my childhood.

I always find it funny to see space themed media use the most random of rockets on the cover. What inspires them to use these photos over the basic Saturn V’s and Space Shuttles.

I watched this movie with my mother when I was like 7, thought it was a banger at the time. Probably still is, not sure why everyone’s so hard on it.

My mom got that movie for me, and the only time I tried to watch it I brought it to class during movie day and the teacher had to pull me aside and calmly tell me she isn’t going to put the movie on cause it was stupid as fuck, which is surprisingly reasonable to 4th grade me

I have seen this movie. It’s weirdly enjoyable.

God, this is a weird little trip down memory lane. Kid with two stomachs can fart like super good. So of course they use it to fuel a rocket, and fake a super-soprano singer to sing the highest note. At some point the kid gets drugged, so instead of “singing” the note he shits himself.

Not even one that exists, but it’s cast is absolutely insane for a movie about a boy with super powered farts:

Rupert Grint

Simon Callow

Adam Godley

Stephen Fry

Paul Giamatti

Ned Beatty

Kiera Knightley

Ana de Armas for the remake

Fucking Elliott strikes again

You say this is a prequel to Thunderbolts?

Ah yes I remember this. Why did my parents take me to this? Who knows?

Paul Giamatti is in it? Count me in

Theres a really great episode of How Did This Get Made on this one.

Geostorm.

I am incontinent now Harry

I remember seeing this at the video store. Really takes me back.

Just unlocked a childhood memory. Completely forgot this existed until now

You’re telling me this isn’t Zathura?

The how did this get made podcast has an episode on it. I just listened the other day [HDTGM](https://open.spotify.com/episode/72Ny3pE6ICbBzH6KPBwofI?si=dEppZHDzRyWoA0kWpjd7cA)

Harry grint from thunder potter. I love those movies of wonder and wimsy.

Starring RUPERT GRINT from HARRY POTTER

The IMDB synopsis is everything.

“An 11-year-old boy’s amazing ability to break wind leads him first to fame and then to death row, before it helps him to fulfill his ambition of becoming an astronaut.”

You know what sounds even more appealing?

THUNDER SPELL!!

Had the DVD for this back in the day—no clue why I ever got rid of it. One of the bonus features was a music video from some boy band that never made it, singing a song that (as far as I remember) wasn’t even in the movie. The video had nothing to do with the film, except for random clips awkwardly spliced in—mostly of a kid bending over and ripping farts—while these dudes were earnestly belting out their shot at stardom.

Imagine thinking you’re about to be the next Backstreet Boys or 98 Degrees, only to peak as filler between fart scenes on a DVD bonus menu. Wonder what they’re up to now.

I thought it was okay when I watched it as a kid

“AAAAAAAAAH! WHY WOULD SUCH A FILM EXIST! CHI ERA COSÌ DISPERATO DA FARE QUESTO FILM?!”

Theres a part of this film where they line the kids up to be executed via firing squad. I’m not kidding.

This was one of those funny Blockbuster finds that you just *had* to check out

It’s got a 67% on rotten tomatoes which is honestly a lot higher than I would’ve expected just judging from the poster.

Holy shit, I had this on dvd

Rupert Grint also looks *nothing* like he does on the front of this poster in the movie, clearly just an attempt to capitalize on Harry Potter fame

This movie was/is actually pretty darn good. Yes the concept is silly, but the underlying message of “persevering in the face of adversity” is worth having out there in the world.

Looks like a movie they would parody in a Kevin Smith Movie.

This feels borderline illegal.

Ok, this movie actually sounds kind of awesome. More than mildly amusing now, but at like 10 i would have been so bout it.

I have it on dvd 🙂

Good, sometimes the world needs more trashy cinema

This feels like a made up movie that would be in Impractical Jokers

Made a B-Line for this in blockbuster. Ron + farts + frozen pizza = great Friday

one fart boy

I feel like my username is finally relevant.
