I could rehome a cat of a couple of years if it was to a very loving home. I could not rehome my cats if they had given me 15 and 17 years of love. Not right. I would tell my boyfriend he would have to wait.

It’s kinda monstrous to rehome a couple senior kitties over a dog, or for almost any reason. I wouldn’t give up my boys for anything.
This is so sad. For their entire lives these cats lived together with each other and with a human they thought loved them. Rehoming them at this age is cruel. Rehoming them separately and saying ha-ha about that makes me lose speech .
I’ve taken senior cats from our local shelter a couple of times just to let them to live their last months or years in a home, not is a shelter cage. They were heartbroken without their previous owners – it was clearly visible. It took months for them to understand that their beloved humans will never come back to them.
After 15 years! Wow! Wait a few more years to let them pass peacefully in the only home they’ve known 😩

I left a relationship because he wouldn’t live with cats. Can’t give up my babies just for a guy. I made a commitment to them for life so he had to go.

This is sad on a few levels.
I wonder why they can’t just wait a while longer to move in with their partner? Give their cats a stable and happy last few years of their lives and move in only after both have passed away (apologies if that sounds a bit dark, but at these kitties’ ages I can’t imagine it’d be more than a few more years). Or I guess there might be dire financial reasons for needing to move in together…

This is so sad. The person I’m dating and I both have cats and my cat absolutely hates other cats and will not live with them. So it’s non-negotiable that should we stay together long-term that we would have to wait to move in together until she’s no longer with us. She’s the older of the two cats anyway and she was here before I started dating. She’s the priority.

Forget rehoming the dog, rehome the boyfriend. She’s almost certainly had these cats longer than she’s had him but she’s willing to just let them go? Couldn’t be me, my cats are family.
