IIRC this violates the merchant tos for credit cards.

Peel the sticker.

Name and shame the restaurant

i’d take the sticker off idgaf

I don’t mind throwing a dollar or two at any cashier but this would make me very quickly hit custom triple 0.

Lol I would rip that shit off real quick

“this device appears defective you need to provide a functioning one for me to pay”

I did a custom tip of $0. And handed it back to the person. And said “you shouldn’t tape things to touch screens”. I figured it was a good tip.

100% report this business. This is illegal and should be labeled as a service charge, or some sort, if required.

Pay your employees

Custom tip then put $0.00

[Lately, when I go out to dinner at a restaurant, I wear this shirt.](https://screach.org/fmczyk) The looks people give me are pretty funny

In Europe we tip staff when the service is very good or just pleasant. I don’t understand tipping culture in the Americas

Take it off

Peel it off using and obvious, excessively aggressive motion.

That’s actually illegal in many states, please leave details. <3

Custom tip. $0.01. Make eye contact while you press OK.

This is definitely against the card processors tos.

custom -> 0 or negative number

I will sometimes tip when these pop ups come up, but this would piss me off that I’d pick custom tip and select zero dollars. Or one penny if it won’t let me pick zero.

That is illegal to force people to tip.

Custom: $0.00.

Custom -> 0%

Done.

What did you end up doing?

Without seeing the $ sign I knew this was America.

Cancel transaction. Easy.

Then just peel it off. Tips aren’t a legal requirement

Custom -$0

What does the X button on top left do?

Has anyone ever hit the custom button and put in a negative number?

Click custom and type 0.

Select custom and put 0

Tap the X in the top left corner.

If this is a pay before you receive your food style restaurant, take your time. When they start making your food, just decline and walk away. Not only do they lose a customer, they also now have food wastage. I have ZERO sympathy for any tip related BS.

The **EMPLOYER** pays the staff. If I am now determining their payroll, I should give the restaurant a bill for **MY** time.

I’ll give them a custom tip of $0.00

Custom $0

Custom- $0

Custom – 0.00 – Enter.

Right in front of them.

That would make me not want to tip even more. Unless there is a clear statement about parties 8 – 10 people or larger get the automatic gratuity, tips should always be left at the discretion of the costumer. Tip culture is insane.

Write $0.00 with 🙂

“I pay in cash.”

Tell them you don’t want it any more.
