Two books for those not understanding why Trump has not been removed despite so many protests:
1) The End of Protest – Micah White.
An occupy wall street founder who has basically admitted the government doesn’t have to give in to what protests ask for because they are essentially polite requests, just louder.
2) If We Burn – Vincent Bevins.
Superb author and journalist who explains that lack of strong leadership and organisation has led protests to be too hodge-podge to achieve specific goals. Also discusses mass-media cherry picking protest interviews and footage to deliberately squash momentum.
Both books remind us:
Protest is a threat. It comes before direct action.
If no direct action follows an ignored protest, the effort was mostly wasted.
It’s not worth covering when it’s less than 50 people in most places. They’ve covered much larger protests against Trump before

Matt Walsh actually covered this on his show yesterday .. they barely had any attendance and not even close to 50 states or 50 capitol cities as they claimed
My aunt and uncle feel like leaders in the rebellion. They’re super super active in the fight against these people. If I had more ability and money, I would be getting out there too.

I’m from Europe and we really haven’t seen any protest being covered. Are people really protesting? I feel like when that guy was killed by police during Covid millions of people were marching within a few days.
Even that womens’ march had more people when Trump didn’t even do anything yet.
The most I’ve seen now is maybe few hundred people in front of a state capital.
The conclusion over here is that Americans either agree with Trump or don’t care enough to stop it.
Why would america state TV cover it

If that is true, then I guess this is also the first time in history that people are protesting against the candidate that won the popular vote in all 50 states.
I don’t doubt there are protests, just not that it’s the first time. maybe the first time social media has allowed us to be aware of them all. I best they protested in all the states the first time Trump was elected too. I bet there were other presidents as well, but again, it wasn’t so easy to see them all at once on X.

You talk about revolution just months after an election. The people voted. I guess you were never really onboard with “save democracy.”
It wasn’t big enough and it lasted one day.
Compare to the protests in LA which were covered because they were big enough that people entered the highway and police were sent to block their advance. Additionally those protests started a few days before the planned 50 state protest.
I’ve seen nothing but back to back coverage of it, just not on the dying mainstream media.
Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, tiktok all have people blasting it. YouTube and twitch have streamers talking about it. it’s the dominant topic currently and pretending like it isn’t is silly.
at that point you’re going to argue that podcasters didn’t have an influence on the last election. news has been incredibly online and decentralized in the hands of regular people for almost a decade. let the cable news die.
No one is covering it because no one cares.
