I am sure if 2 or 3 CEO dies gun legislation would pass in a minute and they will take away gun from everyone

Good bait.

Obamacare is great!

should have called 912

It doesn’t fit the sub, but the context is relatable. We helped a guy pinned down by his motorcycle in a hit a run. Paramedics arrived quickly. He refused to go to the hospital because he was concerned about the cost. Crazy situation!

For clarification: I meant the situation is crazy, not the guy refusing care is crazy. Hence I said “crazy situation!” Nobody should be in a position where they have to refuse care. Something needs to change

Can confirm this. I was the driver who drove back the empty ambulance to the hospital.

I went to a Red Lobster some years back with my late father. It was a busy night, so we were waiting on the front deck for a table to open up, along with quite a few other patrons.

While waiting, a very, very large woman collapsed near us, and paramedics were called. By the time they got there, she was barely conscious, and it was determined she was having a major heart attack.

In her half-lucid stupor, she kept insisting that they not take her to the hospital, and definitely not in the ambulance because she couldn’t afford it. The situation escalated as they tried to get her on a stretcher, and she was actively trying to fight off the paramedics… The paramedics who were trying to save her life.

Imagine being so afraid of the American Healthcare system – that you’d rather lay on the front deck of a Red Lobster and roll the dice on whether or not you’ll live, than get taken in to the hospital for life saving medical treatment.

What a shitshow our country is.

Two years ago, a random stranger attacked my dad in broad daylight and probably had a head injury. My dad refused to go because he didn’t have health insurance. It’s pretty common for people to have that fear.

Good story except by law 99% of businesses in the US are required to carry general liability insurance which has a coverage called med pay built in, typically 5k that does not erode their limit of liability (usually) and gets paid out without question if someone slips/falls etc at your store. Injury worse than 5k? Guess what you can sue them and almost always win getting you medical bills paid and sometimes additional damages

This isnโ€™t even an incident where health insurance applies

Reminds me of this guy that was in a car accident. He straight up fainted while talking to people and was pale white and disoriented but still able to speak coherently and the main thing he said was “no ambulance.” People kept asking if he wanted them to call one. Later when asked why he said he can;t afford it.

And now she’s homeless.

Upvote me idk why
