I’m not at all familiar with the stock market, but from what I can tell from some basic maths, the S&P500 is down 7.18% *so far* from its position on January 21, 2025.
Jan 21: 6049.24
Mar 11: 5614.56
= Net Loss of 434.68 (7.18%)
Actually, it’s probably a bit worse than that factoring in that stocks went up initially following the inauguration, so this is just how far they’ve fallen from where they were before the rise.
