When has the Superbowl half time shown ever been a “multi-genre spectacle”??? At most the artist brings out like 1 other artist.

It’s amazing how black MAGA are required to shit on all aspects of black culture to appease their audience.
Reminds me of how MAGA went ballistic on Candace Owen’s after she praised the Dr Dre halftime show a few years ago.

People like him existed before hip-hop and said the same condescending remarks about those very genres he’s referencing back when they were in their infancy.
Hip-hop has been around for almost 52 years and has been a prominent genre for over 30 at *least*. Dunno why they’re still mad about it, but it ain’t going nowhere.

First of all, there is no music for ALL of America. Music is a deeply personal thing, and while it can unify, it’s based on experience. It’s not universal. Also, its New Orleans; it’s known for a lot of different musical genres made by black people, it’s not known as like a great country music city. I don’t know what its death metal scene is like, but I feel like having a black American perform music about the black American experience is extremely New Orleans.
Next, calling Kendrick a mumble rapper is next level insane. Though, the live broadcast was sound mixed like dogshit. The apple music video they released after is way better, but he has a legitimate complaint here. But rather than say “I couldn’t understand him, what happened” he instead blamed the artist.
It’s just republican shit pointing out real problems, then blaming the group least responsible because they can’t afford to pay you. Plane crashes into a helicopter? Can’t be the fault of the rich guy who fired the head of the FAA, let’s blame black and disabled people, despite black and disabled people not being involved.
Im just so tired of this shit.

New Orleans’ rich musical and cultural heritage INCLUDES Big Freedia, Juvenile, Manne Fresh, Lil Wayne and Master P. If they instead decided to show the history of Bounce music would he not have a problem with that as well? New Orleans gives America “jazz” yes but it also decided to make music after 1920. If they want New Orleans then sure you can have all the ratchet that comes with her.

So. I always forget this taint exists until he says something hateful and ignorant. Then I remember like “Oh, it’s the one guy who has no sense of identity, so he does sht like this because he hates himself, but also wants attention”. Then I immediately forget him again. It’s kinda funny, actually.😅 I forreal *always* think it’s somebody that I have’t seen, before.😩😂 He’s like a roach.🤣

I hate when people do this. You see folks do it all the time with rap. They shit on every aspect because they don’t like the genre for whatever reason. Even if you don’t like rap…you have to acknowledge the sheer talent Kendrick has and recognise the artistry in the overall performance. You clowns are bitchmade fr!

If you watched the whole event, you would have seen all the genres he’s speaking of. But of course, we’re gonna get upset at a Pulitzer winning black artist for having a performance loaded with symbolism that challenges conservative ideals…. and Drake.

That’s how you know they only watch to complain. The whole opening to the game was a tribute to New Orleans and they had a bunch of performers and a couple college bands from the city perform. National Anthem was sung by an acclaimed Louisiana artist with a jazz rendition
Cuz every other Super Bowl featured a multi genre exposition of local music?

I didn’t watch, but I heard like there was a whole thing with Jon Babtiste, Harry Connick Jr, a guy who closes out the Jazz fest each year, martching band, jazz ensemble…. I mean, that sounds pretty much like multicultural representation of the culture of the city to me.
Is it me or is this the first time the artist choice has been criticized because of the location of the superbowl?
First the whole thing about Lil Wayne, and now this weirdo.
Like Bruno Mars is from Hawaii, but played in New Jersey, Rihanna is from Barbados but played in Arizona, The Weeknd is Canadian but played in Tampa. Only region specific artist I can think of is Dre and Snoop in LA. Why does it suddenly matter so much this time around?
