Imagine if this was happening to literally any other country. What would the American press reporting on the situation look like?
Let’s say it was Croatia:
* Incumbent President leads up to reelection claiming the election is rigged.
* Incumbent loses election.
* Incumbent denies the results of the election.
* Incumbent holds an inflammatory rally to “take Croatia back” from those who “stole the election”
* Rally attendees violently storm the Croatian Parliament
* Incumbent attempts to direct his Head of Police and Attorney General to declare the election was stolen
* HoP and AG refuse, publicly stating that there were no election irregularities
* New president comes in, new AG opens criminal investigations into previous President
* The fine people of Croatia reelect previous President, ending his legal woes
* President immediately puts in a new Head of Police and Attorney General who not only helped him try and overthrow the previous election but have publicly stated their unwavering loyalty to him and only him
* President of Croatia starts purge of anyone in government not loyal to him and immediately directs HoP and AG to investigate and punish anyone involved in the criminal investigations of the President
How would the American media describe this hypothetical situation in Croatia?

Places like Canada or the EU know that dealing with Trump is going to hurt all sides. But there are plans how to deal with him. What is the plan inside the US itself?
We are already a flawed democracy. None of this should surprise anyone.

The U.S. and Italy are both identified as “Narrowed”. Serbia is rated “Obstructed”. DRC and Pakistan are rated “Repressed”.
Additionally, the United States was identified as “Obstructed” in 2020 during and following the January 6th riots. We are likely being placed on a watchlist because they anticipate we may be falling into this “Obstructed” category again soon.
In 2024 the UK was rated “Obstructed”, and many stable democracies have been rated “Narrowed” or “Obstructed” within the last 5 years.
This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be alarmed and working very hard to turn to the country around — we absolutely should be. But this headline is slightly misleading. The fact that we’re still free to protest and have access to social media and news sources from around the world means as of now our democracy is still functioning, even if it is damaged.

I don’t hate easily, but I hate elon and trump so much. I hate them more for making me feel this way.
Not that I doubt this necessarily, but context, source, or citation is necessary when making claims like this.
America, you could do so much better than this.
As an outsider? It’s hilarious to see after decades of bravado. Hollywood movies and TV shows dominating global culture. The brave and the bold. The land of the free. God’s country.
But it was all a sham. If the laws and democracy and constitution held confidence, why can it just be broken in a day? And again the next day? And again and again. With no protest. No arrest. No charge. No revolt. No legal recourse. Nothing?
how about instead of just holding up signs, you actually do something. The first time I actually have not supported some democrat’s decision making (I still support democrats as a whole though).
