Wemby: Solidarity with Dallas’ working class
I’ve never felt bad for a fanbase of any instate rival in any sport until the Luka Trade happened. Fuck Nico and the Adelsons for doing this to one of the best fanbases in basketball.

I mean two weeks later and Mavs have zero to show for losing Luka. Maybe it’ll get better for fans when AD comes back but that isn’t anytime soon.

It’s as Brunson said, the trade broke the emotional connection between the fans and the franchise. I’m no longer invested whether they lose or win games anymore.
If they win, I’m happy for the players. If they lose, I’m happy for the trade backfiring on the front office. But I just don’t care enough anymore to watch their games.
The most emotional investment in the Mavericks I’ve got left in me is hoping Kyrie, PJ, and Gafford all leave in the next two off-seasons.
Hopefully Mark Followill leaves the Mavs broadcasting team as well, and joins one of the national network broadcasts instead of wasting his talent on this soulless organization.

Imagine having very few hobbies, and one of your favorite hobbies being to come home after a long day and just watch some basketball. Then imagine out of nowhere the owners destroy the teams roster in an instant, without cause, and double down afterwards.
This is the life of a Mavs fan for those of us that still exist. It really is sad. I truly don’t know what to do right now with a team I’ve followed so closely for 20 years

I remember just laying down after a long day and not even 10 sec later getting that Shams notification and I had to read that fucker over and over again.
Like no way that’s real, right? Then eventually the follow up tweet and still thinking it was fake.
It still doesn’t feel real, why the hell would they do that trade?! They could’ve gotten so much more from virtually every team if they started a bidding war. But regardless, you don’t willingly trade away Luka, EVER! Even as a Spurs fan: Fuck you, Nico!

This kid just seems to have such a great head on his shoulders. Who are his parents? Man I hope my kids end up as thoughtful and well spoken as him. He really is impossible to hate on.
Reminds me of how Bron has zero scandals his whole career- except Wemby is more mature that Bron at that age and seems like he probably really paid attention to the mistakes NBA players have made in the past. No way this guy ever pulls something like The Decision.
