The joke is only very funny to people who cant speak nor understand tonal languages like the different Chinese languages.
Her name is 屠呦呦 (in Pinyin it’s Tu2 You1you1). The “you” is not pronounced “ewe”; it’s pronounced “yo(h)” (similar to yo mama’s yo).
The “Tu” character sounds like it’s going up, and the “you” characters sound like it’s flat.
You can listen to how it sounds on Google translate by typing her Chinese name 屠呦呦 and pressing the sound icon (looks like a speaker).
Furthermore, nobody sings the hbd song with the persons full name, so it’s really just “hbd to (name)”, so it would be “Youyou” and not “Tu Youyou”.
So if you were to sing the song with her name, it’s going to be awkward because it’ll be in that melody, but her name Youyou will be a different tone, and hell it doesn’t match the hbd melody so it’s going to be a bit difficult.
This is also prob why the happy birthday song in mandarin Chinese doesn’t use the person’s name, it just repeats “Zhu ni sheng ri kuai le” (happy birthday to you) four times LOL.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the pronunciation is more like “too-yo-yo” than “too-you-you”. Sorry to rain of the meme parade 😅

I think it can be achieved with a backup vocal singing an additional “you” at the end.
Happy Birthday to you (you)
Happy birthday to you (you)
Happy birthday, dear tu you (you)
Happy birthday to you (yooou)

Probably only weird if there’s that one person (which there always is) that does the “TO YOU, TO YOU” background shout during the song.
Cause then it’s like…
Happy Birthday to you (TO YOU, TO YOU… BUT NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH “TO YOUYOU” WHICH IS IN FACT YOUR NAME, BUT I’M NOT SINGING THAT PART DURING THIS PARTICULAR SECTION IN THE SONG)

Presumably you’d be singing it in Chinese, which wouldn’t be a problem
Here are the lyrics.
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Tu Youyou
Happy Birthday to you.
