As an anti-Trump steelworker whose employer was also in the bidding war for Nippon, I can’t say I’m against this move by Trump.

The entire “national security concern” argument against the deal is silly, considering Japan is the US’s closest ally. It’s clearly just economic protectionism. US Steel executives want to sell so if unionized steelworkers agree there’s no problem.
