The snap at issue: a student transitioning from female to male posted a selfie from the boys’ bathroom.
Some boys at the high school who saw the selfie, however, were angry and decided they would walk into the girls’ bathroom to take their own Snapchat selfie “as a form of protest,” Fairbanks North Star Borough School District Superintendent Karen Gaborik told The Washington Post.
But they would not get far.
The first boy to enter the girls’ room was met by a girl ― who kneed him in the groin
Yup.It’s NEVER about “protecting women and children”. It’s ALWAYS about control and conformity.
Tbh ‘North Pole High School’ sounds like a terrible, one-season Disney show from the early 90’s. And yeah…schools refuse to punish bullies, but will stomp on anyone who dares to fight back…
Republican Plan:
1) Oppose trans girls in cis girl’s spaces.
2) Punish cis girls for protecting their space from cis boys.
3) ?
4) Profit.
*Excessive* force? What did she do, curb stomp one after the fight was over? If not, I don’t know of any force that would be *unreasonable* in that situation.

It’s so weird that most of the policies that are for the kids aren’t really about the kids after all.
Ive lived in NC through the whole stupid bathroom bill HB2. After it was all over the republicans in our state senate ADMITTED they PUSHED the problem as a wedge issue to try to get votes for the upcoming mid term election. It was a bullshit response to city ordinances passed in Charlotte to protect LGBTQ+ people’s rights.
The republican party in my state is a bunch of horrible people.
Similar situation happened to me in elementary school in Oregon. Boys tried touching my a$$: I slapped one so hard he had a mark on his face for awhile, they snitched and I was called to the principles office. Nobody believed me and I was suspended for a week and in detention every recess & lunch for a month. They tried to get me to admit that I lied every single session, and every single session I either defended myself or flat out ignored them because I knew what they did was wrong. My mother was furious and fought back, hence why my suspension was only a week and not a month.
If they are bullies on the football team they get away with it

This is absolutely infuriating.
Similar incident happened in Australia recently. High school girl was expelled from school for standing up to a bunch of teenage boys harassing female students online.
If they did this to my kid they’d be in court so fast their head would spin.
It has never been about bathrooms, and it has never been about protecting girls and women.
Yeah it’s almost as if the whole trans panic thing is made up bullshit to drive an agenda, right?

Almost sounds like a case of Zero Tolerance, girl socks boy entering Girl’s Bathroom and zero tolerance only sees that she hit him and not the circumstances that led to that.
Standardization of schooling and Zero Tolerance are two of the greatest mistakes in public schooling that I’ve ever seen.

I can’t help but be reminded that Trump said he’s going to ban women’s contact sports like boxing and rugby. It’s (among many other petty, horrid things) about keeping women “in their place”. Keeping them dainty, feminine, powerless. That’s why the girl’s getting suspended, she acted in a way contrary to what conservatives want women to be. All women who step out of line of their enforced social boundaries, be them cis or trans, will be punished by the system.
Good for her. Not surprised at all that she got punished, because most schools still operate on the “boys will be boys” bullshit premise. I hope the guy enjoys icing his nuts for a few days.
And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard assholes say when a woman is sexually assaulted, “Well, why didn’t she fight back? Why didn’t she kick him where it counts?”
Yeah, look what happens when a girl who had every reason to feel threatened did that very thing. I want off this planet.

North Pole highschool catchment area is very Christian of the worse type. The only reason why a normal person would live there is because Fairbanks and the surrounding area is more expensive. That girl unfortunately ran into their fundamentalist ways that says that women and girls need to be passive, have a lot of kids and stay in the kitchen.
I tried my best to stay out of the area, I worked there doing construction and visited my nephews, but never went shopping or for a walk because of the bad vibes I got from the locals.
I wish her the best and hope that she can leave as soon as possible so she doesn’t get pulled into their cult like behavior.

That’s where I graduated from, a school with only 400 people in it I’m surprised this happened, you literally know everybody’s name. Those boys are definitely getting what they deserve from someone at least.
People are completely misunderstanding republicans views here which is why the arguments go in circles.
Republicans when thinking about rape or acting it out really do not want to encounter ‘fake/strong girls’ in the bathrooms, that’s their issue.
So this story is in the same theme, it’s just about keeping girls weak and defenceless
