You cannot convince me that it was sheer luck that Eileen, the only loyalist judge in Florida, got his case. It’s obvious someone made sure she got it, because this was an open and shut case.

But why dismiss the case?
Even if it never hits trial, it is there for history to see. Dismissing it only erases it, gives a reason to erase the 2nd impeachment, fuels the “Biden weaponized the judicial system” theorists, and complicates cases for the people that actually did invade the capitol.
A lot of history will be re-written in the next few years but Trump did something wrong and we shouldnt help people forget that.
Jack Smith tried. I give him credit. He’ll go down as someone who tried to stop what is to come. I wish he had more backing from Garland. Trump played the system like only a rich white guy could.

Justice died when they found the stolen documents and didn’t immediately give him the same treatment Reality Winner got.
It also died the day Mitch decided to not impeach because “he’s learned his lesson”
Don’t blame Garland alone, he had co-conspirators.

If Merick Garland hadn’t sat for two years with his thumb up his ass before hiring Smith, Trump would have been convinced and wouldn’t be president.

Thank you SO much Merrick Garland for slow walking all these cases for YEARS in the interest of not appearing “partisan”. Your milquetoast approach to justice has doomed our country. This is all at his feet and will be his legacy.

It is dismissed without prejudice, therefore (if he lives another 4 years), it can be restarted.
If Jack Smith **had not** done this, Trump’s AG could dismiss **with** prejudice and it could never be restarted.

Smith dismissing the charges without prejudice is a good & a bad thing. For one, it means that Trump could face the same charges again if he leaves office. The bad thing is this is more motivation for him to ensure that he never leaves office again.
